The photo doesn’t begin to show the massive amount of soap, diapers, shampoo, conditioner, and more to the Community Action Partnership facility in west downtown Lincoln today. The Community Action staff was over the moon with the many boxes we carted in. In addition to that, we gave a $650 donation to the agency! The excitement was so fun to see and experience. After the photo, they gave us a tour of the facility so we could understand how these items will be used.
Community Action Partnership has a “store” where their program participants are able to use points to “purchase” the items. They have 17 programs that address the causes of poverty, and help individuals with financial and family well being, homelessness prevention, and more. When their clients participate in the programs, they earn points. What a super way to help empower people to become self-sustaining!
